Guide to the iMeditation App

Here is some advice you may benefit from before starting your iMeditation.
It will definitely be better if you listen to the meditations with your headphones or earphones on.
It will also be good if you can sit somewhere private where you won’t be disturbed during your meditation.
It is also a good idea if you meditate at approximately the same time every day.

Before You Start

Here is some advice you may benefit from before starting your iMeditation.
It will definitely be better if you listen to the meditations with your headphones or earphones on. That will give you the best effect of the sounds in each meditation.

It will also be good if you can sit somewhere private where you won’t be disturbed during your meditation. It is also a good idea if you meditate at approximately the same time every day. This is not the most important thing, however.

If you can get ready to meditate and ensure nothing can distract you, that will be perfect.
It is possible to download all the meditations, the free ones as well as the ones you have bought. Once you have downloaded them, you can use the “Airplane Mode” on your phone. That means you can stop all calls to the phone and send them to voicemail without disturbing you. This function is also necessary if you are going to travel on an airplane and you want to listen to your meditations. You will find “Airplane Mode” in general Settings – just set it to On.

It is good if you have somewhere you can sit really comfortably. Your body shouldn’t hurt during your meditation. It may well happen that you feel different sensations in your body during meditation. That is nothing to be afraid of, but if you do feel like leaving the meditation, just open your eyes and pay attention to your body and the surroundings. It is not necessary to sit in the “Lotus position”. Just sit comfortable in an ordinary chair or on a sofa or in your bed. It is important that you are sitting upright with your back straight. Unless you use the meditations to fall asleep to, that is. After your meditation it will be a good idea if you don’t open your eyes straight away. Sit for a few minutes with your eyes closed and when you feel ready, open your eyes. Don’t get up straight away, but stay seated for a while and take the time to feel yourself inside.
When you have meditated it is possible for you to upload your actual meditation time to the Internet. Just click the button called “Share” in “My Progress”.

What can go wrong with the app:
If your phone has low or no coverage, you will have problems streaming. You can avoid that by downloading your meditations. If you do run into other errors we would love to hear from you. Just email us on info@imeditation.dk and the team will have a look at the problem and possibly contact you within 48 hours.

It may happen, of course, that you relax so much during the meditation that you let go of the telephone. But in that case you will just hear a beep sound, and the meditation will continue as soon as you put your fingers back on the buttons.

I wish you the best of luck with your future meditations.

You can earn bonus points in different ways and use them to buy meditations. You can see your bonus points in the section “My Account” when you click on “My Profile” from the welcome screen.
Here is an overview of the different ways you can earn bonus points.
“Share on Facebook” (from “Start meditation”) A post about iMeditation will appear on your Facebook page. This earns you 15 bonus points.
“Share” A post will appear on your Facebook page about the meditation you just completed. It can be fun for your friends to see that you just meditated and for how long. This earns you 5 bonus points.
“Invite a friend” When you invite a friend and send them a mail from iMeditation, you earn 10 bonus points.
“When you meditate” Every time you meditate, you earn 1 bonus point per minute.

When you have downloaded the app iMeditation, the different meditations will be streamed. That means they don’t take up space on your phone. If you are going to be in a place with bad network connection to your phone, it’s a good idea to have downloaded your meditations in advance.
Also, if you are travelling and you don’t want to use an expensive data connection, you can have your meditations downloaded in advance. In that way, your phone simply works as a player. You will of course still get your bonus points for each meditation.
If you are going to travel on an airplane or go somewhere else, where there is no network connection possible, you can play your meditations without any problems, as long as you have downloaded them in advance.

Screenshot 12

This image is of the “Top 100”. That means the 100 people who have meditated for the longest time. You can also see your position on the list. Here, for instance, you can see that FBright is in first place and that he or she has meditated 148 hours and 31 minutes.

Screenshot 13

Every time you meditate for more than 2 minutes, your time in “My Progress” will automatically be updated. In that way you will be able to see how much you have meditated that day and the previous days.
You can always see the day, week and month by year in “My Progress”.

This is where you can see your meditation development week-by-week or month-by-month. How long you have meditated in the past days or weeks. It is good to be aware that some weeks you are doing better than others. And to figure out why it didn’t work out, or why it was so much better than the other times.
You get to this page by selecting “My Progress” and then click on the week, for example week 21.
You can also click on each month and see a graph from when you started. To switch between graph and table view, click the two arrows forming a circle on the right.

This is the image you see if your phone has poor connection. This may be because you are far away from a transmission tower or your network can’t find the nearest tower.
If you are on a wireless network this happens extremely rarely; only if you have a poor connection to your wireless network.
